Time to Say Goodbye

February 18, 2004

Well, seems like Howard Dean will end his candidacy, which is no surprise. It is a pity though. Dean was really the first candidate who ever excited me and made me feel like there was a true movement in politics that might bring some change. Hopefully his run will leave a legacy that will make this country a better place, not just leading to Bush being defeated, but making people thirsty for the real changes we have to make in order for this country live up to its ideals.

While on the subject of dropping out, this article from a few days ago has a few anecdotes and observations about how and when candidates decide to end their bid for office, the Orrin Hatch story being hilarious in particular. Plus, it quotes a professor from Colby College!
